There are war games being played out in our country, very uncivil war games, and there are three sides involved in these games, the Blue Team, the Red Team and the Purple Team, also known as “Permanent Washington.”
Since the close of World War Two the Blue Team has been playing a long game, slowly coopting this nation’s education systems, its courts and the media, all for the purpose of building a power base by propagandizing the young, changing word definitions and rewriting history.
The Red Team, largely clueless, has behaved as if it were still playing according to the original rules laid out at the inception of the game, back in the 1700’s, and thereby has placed itself on perpetual defense.
The Purple Team, unlike either the Red or the Blue, has as its central goal the amassing of power and wealth as it serves as both manager and coach for the other teams.
Throughout the history of our government the Purple Team has been the actual dominant power while allowing both the Blue and the Red to score victories so long as those victories contributed to the goals of the Purple.
But then the Red Team did the unconscionable, they brought in a wringer as their leader, a man of a new color, call it “orange.” This man, acting as a one man team, owing no allegiance to any of the other three teams, set out to actually follow the original game rules, a move which threatened to end the complacency of the Red Team, undo the gains of the Blue Team and destroy the Purple Team’s ability to continue wielding power and amassing wealth.
The Orange Man had to be destroyed. The attempt to eliminate him has resulted in the uncivil war games currently being played.
The ultimate battle is only weeks away. The initial skirmish will take place on November 3rd. The Purple Team has added its considerable power to the Blue and, should the Orange Man prevail, stands ready to pull out all stops in the attempt to alter the outcome of the election through the courts, the media and by dispatching millions of our fellow citizens to the barricades.
If the Blue Team prevails at the polls this country will be, as our last president put it, “fundamentally changed” forever.
Either way, this writer fears it will be a pyrrhic victory along the lines of those words uttered during the war in Viet Nam, “we had to destroy the village in order to save it.”
Just read your post to the family as we are burning yaupon on this fine morning. EXCELLENT analogy. EXCELLENT post. 5 stars.

Wow, good stuff and now I know what, pyrrhic, means.
